Sometimes when you are going to court, you not only need a lawyer that has plenty of training and a long legal career, but also a forensic psychiatry expert. While forensic psychiatrists are not needed in every civil and criminal trial, their training makes it possible for them to review criminals and witnesses so that they can produce a diagnosis to let the court know if they are clinically and legally sound of mind. Those that receive a diagnosis that says they can not be held completely accountable are often given medical treatment in facilities with psychologists and other trained mental health professionals instead of being sent to a jail or prison if they are convicted of breaking the law. The stakes can be very high, so you want to be certain that you get a forensic psychiatrist with the legal and medical training that is needed to make an accurate diagnosis. When you contact the forensic psychiatry experts, ask them how long they have been licensed. Those with longer careers should have more experience and can therefore give you better services that those that have less experience or training. Ask them if they work on both civil and criminal cases to make sure that the can review any type of witness or testimony that you might need help with. Ask them if they have any medical science or law references that they can give you to prove that they have the experience that you need.
